Review: Shrek is a large, green ogre who lives alone in a swamp and prefers peace and quiet. At first, he seems frightening, grumpy, and unfriendly, but underneath his tough appearance, he is kind-hearted and caring. Shrek enjoys his simple life until fairy-tale creatures are forced into his swamp by Lord Farquaad. Wanting his home back, Shrek travels to meet Farquaad and eventually agrees to rescue Princess Fiona. During his adventure, he becomes friends with the talkative and loyal Donkey. Shrek and Fiona gradually fall in love, and Shrek learns that true happiness comes from accepting yourself rather than worrying about what others think. He is brave, humorous, honest, and protective of the people he loves. Shrek’s appearance may make him look like a monster, but his actions show that he has a gentle heart. His story teaches us that appearances can be misleading and everyone deserves acceptance and love.
