Review: ULYSSES : Published in 1922, Ulysses represented Joyce’s masterpiece and high point of modernism . The novel present the same structure of Omer’s Odissey . There is also a parallelism because the characters and events evolved around Homer’s heroic models . It’s divided in 18 chapters which are close to odissey episodes. The whole novel is organized into three sections : - Telemachia ( 1-3) , deals with Stephen who plays the role of Telemachus that represent the intellectual ; - odissey ( 4-15) , deals with Léopold Bloom , the man that represents Ulysses - Nostos ( 16-18) , which contains the monologue of Molly Bloom , which represents Penelope. It tells the story of a day in the life of an unsuccessful agent of Jewish origin Léopold Bloom, who walks around Dublin , meeting various people including Stephen Dedalus .
